Peter has spent the last eighteen months leading a consultancy team at the UK’s Ministry of Defence that has been developing an integrated approach to non-operational energy procurement and management. This has involved working with a very complex stakeholder group, including the Armed Forces, Other Government Departments, power and natural gas suppliers and technology suppliers. The scope of the project has extended from best practice in commodity procurement to sustainability objectives and managing carbon compliance.
Prior to working on this assignment, Peter spent three years building development partnerships for a start-up technology company. Key achievements in this time were acquiring a US-based technology company, supplying a fuel cell powered field generator to the US Department of Defense and building the prototype ENV fuel cell motorcycle in conjunction with Seymour Powell, the UK’s leading industrial design company.
Peter previously worked in the energy practices of A.T. Kearney and Chem Systems. As a consultant, he worked for numerous international corporations (e.g. BP, TotalFinaElf, Air Liquide, TexacoChevron), National Oil Corporations (e.g. Saudi Aramco, Kuwait Petroleum, Statoil) and many governments and NGOs (World Bank, EBRD, Ireland’s Ministry of Energy, UK Department of Trade and Industry). His early career was in management at Esso (ExxonMobil) covering plant operations, sales and finance.
